Brampton Multicultural Community Centre is a group of diverse professionals dedicated to enhancing newcomer community engagement. Our agency was established in 1987 as a nonprofit organization to serve and work with newcomers to facilitate their settlement and integration into Canada. We offer a wide range of services and learning opportunities to connect newcomers to a better future in the ever changing Canadian society.
Be the Change
Honourable Eleanor McMahon, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, made annouced that BMC will receive $592,000 from the Ontario Trilium Foundation to develop and enhance leadership skills and civic engagement among immigrant youth ages 15 to 24, and help them get involved to address challenges facing their communities, such as unemployment, navigating the education system, the disconnects between home and school culture, values and practices. The BMC Be the Change Youth Project will continue for the next 3 years.
BMC's Support Services for Syrian Families
BMC is taking a lead role in supporting Syrian families in Peel. Our team is well trained and informed and has the latest information on resources and support systems to help Syrian families in their settlement process. Whether you are a sponsor or a newcomer family we have the information and resources to meet all your needs. Our team of settlement workers provides services out of our three locations, in schools across Brampton and in libraries.
BMC has also launched a volunteer program; our Arabic speaking volunteers are ready to help Syrian families: register their kids in school, find a family doctor, get all paperwork in order, and find housing and furniture and whatever else is needed. Please contact our office to get connected with our staff and volunteers; we look forward to helping you.
